RUMFORD – Shakespearean actor Duncan Inches will portray a well-known playwright in “An Evening With Will” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, in the Rumford Public Library.

Inches is an actor, scholar and artistic director of the William Shakespeare Road Company of New York. His one-person plays bring Shakespeare to life in presentations that encourage the audience to become part of the show. He’s been acting as Shakespeare for more than 25 years, appearing at Renaissance fairs across the country, including ones in New York, Texas and Ohio.

He has also performed in some of Joseph Papp’s Shakespeare in the Park productions. He also was part of a Renaissance Weekend at Hilton Head, S.C., where he performed for then-President Bill Clinton and his family.

He is in Maine for the Maine Renaissance Faire, which begins July 17 in Lebanon. More information about that fair is available at www.mainefaire.com.

Inches will attend the library’s Summer Fest 2004 during the afternoon and will be presented by the children’s librarian, Ginny Todd. At 6:30 p.m., he will appear in the library’s public room.
