FARMINGTON – Jeanette Watson Adams, 85, of Wilton, died late Tuesday morning, July 27, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born, Oct. 31, 1918, in Skowhegan, a daughter of Harold and Agnes (Sawyer) Watson.

Mrs. Adams, along with her husband, Harland, whom she married, Nov. 3, 1934, at the Beans Corner Baptist Church, owned and operated the Wilton Oil Co. for 28 years.

She was very active in the Rebekahs for many years and enjoyed fishing with her husband and friends. Her greatest joy was time spent with family at get-togethers and with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Harland, of nearly 70 years, of Wilton; three daughters, Gail Karkos and her husband, Lyle, of Temple, Donna Cunliffe and her husband, Frederick, of Wilton and Shirleen Dolder and her husband, Robert, of Wilton; a brother, Richard Watson, of Norway; daughter-in-law, Susan Holmes Adams, of Wilton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents; a son, Dennis; a great-granddaughter, Maureen Bell; a sister, Ida Watson Wetmore; brothers, Laurice, Ortho, Everett, and George Watson.
