AUBURN – Louis A. Caron of North River Road, Auburn, started his spiritual journey home Sunday, August 1, in the loving company of his wife of 50 years and his family.

Louis was born Dec. 10, 1933. He was one of 12 children to Louis and Wilhemine Caron of Lewiston.

He married Joan Beaulieu of Grand Isle on Feb. 27, 1954. They raised their family in Auburn and spent many summers at Hemlocks Camping Area in Poland.

They were members of St. Philips Church in Auburn. Louis was a proud member of the National Guard and the Knights of Columbus. He owned and operated Caron’s Catering & Restaurant for 25 years. He was the lead singer in the family band, The Survivors, and later known as the One Man Band where he would bring his style of music and harmony to clubs, nursing homes and other various volunteer functions.

He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Louis did many things in his lifetime and he was good at them all, but he was proudest of his family.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife, Joan; his children, Marcel and Karen Caron, Diane and Ron Lawlor, Raymond and Katy Caron, Lorraine Thibault and Robbie Sanborn, Danny and Maureen Caron, John and Sonya Caron, all of Auburn, and Jackie and Bob Miller of Carlin, Nev.; his sisters, Janet, Florence, Gert, Lucienne and Rita; by his brothers Alphonse, Arthur, Phillip and Alphe; 24 grandchildren; and five and a half great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Adrienne; and brother, Terry.

He will also be remembered by all the hearts his spirit has touched.
