LIVERMORE FALLS – A Livermore Falls man was being held on $100,000 cash bail Thursday at an Auburn jail on a charge that he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

Livermore Falls police Officer Maurice Drouin arrested Henry Baker, 39, early Wednesday and charged him with five counts of gross sexual assault, Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said. He is also charged with operating after suspension.

Police received information this week and began an investigation.

Drouin stopped Baker’s vehicle at 2:07 a.m. for a traffic violation, and the 14-year-old girl was in the vehicle, Steward said.

Baker was operating the vehicle without a license, Steward said.

Baker was known to the girl, and the abuse has allegedly been going on for some time, he said.

Drouin is working with the Maine Department of Human Services on the case, Steward said.

Baker was still at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn as of Thursday afternoon.
