OXFORD – There will be a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Hosanna Church. It is sponsored by the Ladies’ Fellowship of the church to raise money for retreats and other events. The church is at 109 Schoolhouse Road, two-tenths of a mile from Emugene Staples Hall at the corner of Schoolhouse Road and Route 121.

Auction items wanted

NORWAY – The Norway Business Association is seeking donations for its annual fund-raising auction at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at the Beal’s Tavern parking lot next to L.F. Pike and Son. Proceeds from the auction and annual dues are the main source of income for the association. The money supports local children’s charities and primarily promotes business in Norway. To arrange for collection of items, or for information, people may call Roxanne at 743-7986, Dundee at 743-3891 or Lesley at 743-6561. Collection days will be Aug. 17 and 19. Smaller items may be dropped off at L.F. Pike and Son anytime.

Summer social

PARIS – The annual Finn Am Summer Social picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at the South Paris Fire Hall on Western Avenue. There will be live music, a gift shop and a potluck lunch. People may contribute to the potluck lunch or bring their own lunch. Admission is $2 for age 12 and older; under 12, free.

AARP picnic

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will hold its fourth annual picnic at noon Monday, Aug. 9, at Lake Pennesseewassee Park on Route 118. Members are asked to notify Becky at 744-0213 if they are planning to attend. In the event of rain, the picnic will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, East Main Street, South Paris. All attendees should bring a lawn chair.
