AUBURN – The partners of the 74th La Marche Departemental, Maine, Eight and Forty, which is part of the American Legion Auxiliary, met at the Ground Round Restaurant for the annual Marche, which involves business, election and installation of officers.

A memorial service was held to honor departed members and a moment of silence was held for the men and women who lost their lives in Iraq.

The officers for 2004-2005 are as follows:

Le petit chapeau, Edith Lemieux, Lewiston; le demi petit chapeau premier, Evanna Grover, West Paris; le demi petit chapeau deuxieme, Eleanor Heinze, Arundel; l’archiviste, Mary Heverling, Lewiston; l’aumonier, Phyllis Cluff, Kennebunkport; la concierge, Irene Ervine, Bowdoinham.

Committees: auditors, Phyllis Cliff of Kennebunkport, Kathleen Koss of Lewiston and Beverly Prince of Gray; children and youth, Pearl Sirois of Auburn, Mary Heverling of Lewiston; constitution and bylaws, Barbara Knox of Harpswell, Terry Owens of Topsham; fair table, Kathleen Koss of Lewiston, Lillian Herrick of South Paris; finance, Evelyn Senkbeil of Mexico and Irene Ervine; leadership, Nana Haines of Phillips.
