AUBURN – Celeste Philippon, Community Little Theatre director, is calling for auditions for “Man of LaMancha” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 23 and 24, in the Great Falls Performing Arts Center on Academy Street.

The production dates are Oct. 15 to 30.

The auditioners will be required to sing a prepared song according to character. A pianist will be available. Cold readings of selected scenes from the play will occur for those interested in principal roles.

The available roles are: Miguel de Cervantes (Don Quixote/Alonso Quijana) age 45 and up, a low tenor or baritone; manservant (Sancho Panza) 35 and up, also a low tenor or baritone; Aldonza (Dulcinea) 30 and up, a soprano; governor/innkeeper, 30 and up, a bass/baritone; Antonia (Alonso’s niece), 18 to 25 years old, soprano; housekeeper (for Alonso) 30 to 50, a mezzo-soprano; padre, 30 to 50, a tenor; barber, 20 to 40, tenor; and a duke/Dr. Sanson Carrasco (Antonia’s fiancée and Knight of the Mirrors) 25 and up, tenor/baritone.

Seven muleteers will complete the cast: Jose, Tenorio, Paco, Juan, Anselmo, Pedro and a guitar player, of various ages, tenor.

Chorus members are a captain of the Inquisition; Moorish Girl (dancer); four attendants to the knight; soldiers; prisoners; prison guards; gypsies (Moors); Maria (innkeeper’s wife); and Fermina (a serving girl).
