LEWISTON – Peter R. Picard, 43, a former resident of Oxbow drive, died Saturday afternoon at D’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston on January 26, 1961, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Jutras) Picard.

He was educated in local grammar schools and graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 1980.

Following graduation he became employed at Bates College where he worked in the maintenance department for 17 years. In 1997 he retired, due to a disabling serious illness.

Prior to his illness, Peter enjoyed riding Harley’s and working on his sports cars. He was a member of the United Bikers Of Maine for many years. Peter was also an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and The New England Patriots.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Picard, of Lewiston; three brothers, Michael Picard, and his wife, Patricia, of Windham, Roger Picard and his wife, Linda, of Lewiston, and John Picard and his companion, Rachel Potvin, of Auburn; one sister, Beatrice Hebert, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
