WATERVILLE – Internationally renowned artist and musician Elisabeth Borgerhoff Pomerleau, is Thomas College’s Artist for September.
Pomerleau’s exhibit will include a collection of intricately painted miniature goose eggs depicting scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi. Inspired by the Giottos frescoes at Assisi, her work is included in numerous private collections.
Pomerleau earned a bachelor of arts from Yale University in Russian language and studied at the University of Leningrad. An expert in Balkan music, she is a member of the Alan Shavarsh Bardezbanian Middle Eastern Ensemble and a participant in the Arabic Music Retreat.
She lives with her husband in Mount Vernon, where she teaches music and art, in addition to presenting workshops in Slavic music and culture in area schools.
Pomerleau’s work will be on display at the Thomas College Art Gallery from Sept. 3 to Oct. 3. The gallery is located on the second floor of the Main Administration Building on the college campus, 180 West River Road.
