DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Historical Society will hold its first fall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, in the Charter Meeting Room, 63 Main St.

Katherine Calef will present the bicentennial quilt that she made for the historical society. The quilt will be on display this fall at the Dixfield Town Office, Ludden Memorial Library and other places.

Also on hand will be Bob Dolloff of the Peru Historical Society who will present a thumbnail sketch of the history of the town of Peru in the “Get to Know Our Neighbors” series.

All members are reminded to return 50/50 raffle tickets for the drawing that will be held after the presentations. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.

Tres Dias meeting

RUMFORD – The next Tres Dias gathering will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the Rumford United Methodist Church on Linnell Street. The meeting is open to the public, and friends and family are invited. For more information, people can call 364-8083.

Class lunch

RUMFORD – Stephens High School class of 1955 members interested in having a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Penalty Box should call Geneva Raymond at 364-4216.
