OXFORD – For the seventh year, the Hannaford store in Oxford is providing a box where shoppers may drop off donated school supplies for local children.

The program was launched seven years ago by Alice Cornwall, who had heard that some children in the area could not afford to purchase necessary school supplies and decided to help.

The donation box is at the front of the store and will be in place for the first two weeks of September.

The supplies will be collected by Maureen Howard, director of the Education Exchange, and distributed through all 11 SAD 17 schools.
