RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the conference room of the Rumford Municipal Building, Congress Street.
The business meeting will start at 7 p.m., followed by a program presented by veterans who were in Washington for the opening of the World War II Museum. They will discuss their reactions to the dedication and describe the scene there.
It will be the first meeting of the year with the new slate of officers of the society. Bill Weston is at the helm again.
There will be a review of last year’s accomplishments, including a report from the Scholarship Committee after the summer celebration in Rumford Center.
Plans will be made for the society’s booth at the River Valley Expo. Dues may be paid at the meeting.
