I’d like to apply for the job of proofreader with the Sun Journal. Several times in the past few weeks, there have been spelling errors not only in the articles, but two were actually in the headlines. Example, on Aug. 11: “Six sent to hospital after leak of fumes.” Spelling “Israel” two different ways in the same article is ridiculous, but that happened the previous week.

If the proofreaders can’t do their jobs, maybe someone else could take a stab at it. At least that way the local paper’s journalism wouldn’t appear to be so inept.
