RUMFORD – The next Business Lunch and Learn Seminar will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the River Valley Technology Center on 60 Lowell St., Rumford. The topic will be “Writing a Winning Proposal for a Maine Technology Institute Development Award,” and the seminar will be presented by Joseph Migliaccio, who is responsible for project management and technology evaluation for the MTI Development Award program. Attendees are asked to read the Development Award request for proposals, which is posted on the MTI site, www.mainetechnology.org.
Christmas in the Valley
RUMFORD – People are needed to serve on the committee to help organize the Christmas in the Valley parade. There will be a meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the chamber office on Lowell Street. A theme for the annual parade will be decided.
Class luncheon

Volunteers sought
RUMFORD – Volunteers are needed to help build the new garage at Black Mountain of Maine. People with building and carpentry skills are sought, as well as anyone wanting to help move materials, cut dimension lumber and pound nails. The project is expected to last through the fall.
