LEWISTON – Ann Imogene Feldman, 83, a former resident of Gamage Avenue, Auburn, died peacefully at The D’Youville Pavilion on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

She was born in Boston, Mass., June 15, 1921, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Goodman) LaFluer and was educated in Boston schools.

On June 14, 1942, she married Bernard Feldman of Boston.

During the 1940s, Ann was a singer with her own radio show in Boston and worked very hard for the Red Cross as a volunteer during that time period.

Ann and her husband, Bernie, relocated to the Auburn area in 1956 and have made their home there ever since.

Ann was very active with Beth Abraham Synagogue, serving as president of the sisterhood organization. She also worked on behalf of the Auburn Ski Association during the 1960s and 1970s, while spending many hours at Lost Valley Ski Area sitting and knitting while her son, Lee Jay, skied.

She loved being around her three grandchildren and watching them excel at their sports growing up, and she loved the family dog, Kasha.

During her stay at the D’Youville Pavilion, she struck up a friendship with all the care staff on her floor and became known to them as Annie.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard, of 62 years; two sons, Howard Feldman, and his wife, Helen Feldman, of Auburn, and Lee Jay Feldman, and his wife, Janet, of Auburn; three grandsons, Lane Feldman, and his wife, Anna Feldman, of Auburn, Adam Feldman, of Vermont, and Scott and Dawn Feldman, of Auburn; along with a great-grandson, Ben Feldman.

She was predeceased by a sister, Avis Steinman, and a niece, Carol Sorenson.
