LEWISTON – The Lisbon Street Getty Mart Senior Redskins picked up 2 wins in recent action in the Lewiston Area Football League for Youth (FLY).

In a thrilling overtime contest, the Redskins edged the Hannaford Senior Lions 12-6. Trailing 6-0 at halftime, the Redskins tied the game as Logan Chouinard took the second half kickoff and scampered 70-yards into paydirt. In the overtime session, Luke Pinard recovered a fumble that led to Pat Collins scoring the winning TD from 3-yards out. Jacob Lajoie and Alex Brochu did some fine blocking during the game. Defensive standouts were Collins, Ray Goulet, Spencer Emerson and Devin Jackson, the latter making an interception. Sparking the Lions were Trevor Laliberte, Jacob Poisson, Kerry Shepard and Casey Parker.

The Redskins ran their record to 4-1 with a 21-6 victory over the D.A. Poussard Steelers. Tony Saucier had a big game, rushing for 151-yards and 2 touchdowns. Chouinard and Collins also provided offensive spark, each rushing for 62-yards. Collins finished the scoring with a 18-yard gallop and also added a 2-point coversion and a 1-pointer. Collins also led the Redskin defense with 10 tackles and 2 interceptions. Chouinard added 9 tackles and recovered a fumble. Also playing well were Goulet, Dustin Ambrose and Damyon Turcotte. Avery Jackson and Alex Brochu both were credited with a quarterback sack. Steeler standouts were Alex Olsen, Logan Rossignol and Jeremy Martin.

Auburn stays unbeaten

AUBURN – The Auburn Recs remained unbeaten a fourth game last week in the Western Maine Seventh-Eighth-Grade Football League with a 38-18 win at previously undefeated Mountain Valley.

Buddy Foss scored on a 68-yard kickoff return in the first half. Also hitting the end zone were Grady Burns, Dylan Therrien and Sean Daigle. Others having a fine game were Brandon Tripp, Justin Leclair, Bruce Gerry, Matt Saucier and Cam Camire.
