Hospital drill

RUMFORD – Rumford Hospital will hold a disaster drill on Friday, Oct. 29, beginning at 6 p.m. It will involve not only hospital staff but also the Rumford Police and Fire departments and Med Care ambulance service. Hospital neighbors should expect to see an unusual number of emergency vehicles in the area during the drill.

Red Hats

RUMFORD – The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine met on Sept. 29 for a chicken pie supper served and prepared by the Rumford United Methodist Church. Violet Swan did a reading on “That Little Box.” Red hat pins were won by Mary Pulsifer, Louise Caron and Patty Arsenault. At the October meeting there will be a contest for the best decorated hat.
