AUBURN – National Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John Furgess of Nashville, Tenn., has announced his appointment of Arthur J. Roy, past state commander, Department of Maine, VFW, to serve as national vice chairman of the National Citizenship Education and Community Service Committee for 2004-05.

Roy is serving as post adjutant of the VFW on Minot Avenue, quartermaster of VFW District 9, chairman of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Association, state chief of staff and state membership chairman.

Roy lives on Russell Street in Lewiston.
