Dear Sun Spots: The Greene Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a blood drive at the Greene Fire Department on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. We need volunteers to make goodies for the donors and to help throughout the day.

The goal is to collect 50 pints of blood. Maine currently has only a one-day supply of blood on hand. Please consider giving “the gift of life.”

To sign up for a particular time to work or donate blood, please call Brenda Theriault at (207) 946-5750. Thank you in advance for your support of this worthy event. – Brenda Theriault, Greene.

Dear Sun Spots: I need some help from column readers.

I have a photograph taken at the former Wallace School on Main Street in Lewiston. I don’t know the year it was taken, but I presume that the other members of my class would be about my age. I am 81 years old. Among my classmates were: Harry Philbrick; Ira (Sonny) Pitcher, Howard Lewis, Arline Beaumont, Betty Lever, Madeline Spencer, Virginia Lindquist, Dorothy Hoffman, Gretchen, Jane Adams, Mildred Guss, Carl Toner, Robert Simpson, Richard Doten, Tom Powers, John Anderson, Bobby Small, Oscar Habnel, John Grant, Albert Ehrenfried, Dorothy Mitchell, Barbara Clifford, Moody, Bill Carrigan, John Coogan.

Any help to try and identify others in the photo would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps some of these former classmates may even have the same photograph. I can be reached at 355 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI 02906. – Howard Lewis, Rhode Island.

Dear Sun Spots: In the past, I made beaded angel ornaments. I’d love to make more but have run into a problem. I need 16 mm, clear faceted beads for the head. I’ve written to a lot of bead companies, and they don’t seem to make them anymore. Would anyone out there have any of these they’d like to part with?

Also, I’m interested in any other crafts, too. If you can help, please call Cindy at (207) 353-4744. – Cindy McCrater, Lisbon Falls.
