I found David Farmer’s “President’s anger may hurt him” column, strategically placed on the front page of the Oct. 9 paper, to be particularly disturbing.

His unabashed use of this newspaper in an attempt to sway public opinion flies in the face of journalistic integrity. The Sun Journal has casually elevated an article riddled with opinion and authored by the editorial page editor to front page status for maximum dissemination of his opinion – that our president is undeserving of a second term.

I am repulsed to think that my purchase of the newspaper has furthered a political agenda. The Sun Journal’s foremost objective as the only newspaper in the area should be to provide quality, objective and unbiased reporting. I can assure you that your perspective on the presidential race is not shared by a large percentage of your readers.

Also, know that your casual emphasis of points made by various letters to the editor (e.g. pulled out quotes from letters) that support the newspaper’s agenda does not go unnoticed.
