Smoking – New Reasons to Quit and Resources to Help: Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Free in the Club 50 room.

Holiday Depression and Stress: Thursday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Free in the d’Youville Resident Dining Room. The session will be presented by Dr. Abhay Singh of CCS Psychiatry. He’ll be discussing ways of avoiding the blues during this time of year.

Community Diabetes Fair: Friday, Nov. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Free in Lepage Conference Center. Speakers, screenings, vendors and giveaways. For more information or to make an appointment for cholesterol and foot checks, call 777-8625.

Lifetime Fitness Program: Nov. 15 to Dec. 10 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. or 10:30; to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $30 at Yoga Center of Maine. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for five weeks. An award winning program for seniors. Energetic and certified instructors lead the exercise, provide individual attention and monitor progress throughout.

Exercise for People with Arthritis: Nov. 16 to Dec. 9, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks. Cost is $20 in the Fleet Room.

Gentle Yoga: Nov. 3 to Dec. 15 from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays for seven weeks in the Fleet Room. Cost is $56.

Syndrome X and Diabetes: Is There A Link?: Thursday, Nov. 18, 5:30 p.m., at the Lepage Conference Center. Cost is $9.50. Part of the “Entrees to Health” Series. Come hear a discussion on risk factors, prevention, diagnosis and treatments. Bring your questions and an appetite for a healthy meal. This month’s menu: harvest soup, spinach and parmesan chicken, baby carrots, garlic and chive mashed potatoes, apple crisp.
