AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve (SHARE), part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, has its alternate registration date for the Nov. 20 Distribution Day from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, Whitney entrance. Seniors to meet

AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Tickets will be on sale for the Nov. 17 Thanksgiving dinner at Martindale Country Club. The monthly raffle will be held along with the pot of gold drawing. After the bag lunch, bingo will be played.

The club met on Oct. 20 for a Halloween lunch. Table favors were furnished by President Betty Hebert. Treasurer Gerry Brushwein read the menu for the Thanksgiving meal, which will be a traditional turkey dinner.

Attendance winners were Beverly Lashua and Felix Yurkston; pot of gold winners, Annie Demers, Letka Haggerty and Jim Lutz. Following lunch, bingo was played.

VFW session

LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 and Auxiliary will meet at noon Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St. All members are encouraged to attend.

The agenda will include a membership scholarship award, veterans ceremony and discussion of Buddy Poppies on Nov. 4, 5, 6.

Veterans who are eligible for membership and wish to join the VFW are encouraged to attend or contact Armand Bussiere at 688-2291.

Exercise program

LEWISTON – HealthSteps at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center announces its exercise program for seniors, Lifetime Fitness, will begin on Nov. 15.

The one-hour class will provide participants with a safe and effective workout that includes a warm-up, cardiovascular component, resistance training to build strength, plus balance and flexibility exercises.

The classes will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. or 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Nov. 15 to Dec. 10 or Dec. 13 to Jan. 14.

Cost is $30 and sessions will be held at the Yoga Center of Maine, Marketplace Mall, Main Street.
