I am a self-employed consulting forester and my livelihood depends directly on Maine’s most important industry: the forest industry. This industry is struggling as a result of over-regulation that affects all aspects of conducting forestry. Closed mills, reduced jobs and the limited ability to compete against similar forest products mills in other states or countries is now reality.
I met Lois Snowe-Mello in 1996. Since then, I have come to know her as a hardworking person and as a representative who understands the importance and challenges faced by the Maine business sector. Lois understands how Maine government has contributed to the loss of 17,000 manufacturing jobs. She is prepared to stop and reduce destructive legislation that earns Maine a rank of the worst state in the nation to conduct business.
Lois Snowe-Mello supports a vibrant forest industry, and I will support her.
