RUMFORD – An investigation continues into a break-in at a fifth-floor apartment in the Muskie Building at 20 Congress St. on Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the building St. after a 911 hang-up call at 2:35 p.m. that someone had broken into an apartment. Police did not say whether anyone was in the apartment when they arrived. A Med-Care Ambulance crew was also dispatched after police secured the scene.

Mexico and Dixfield police, assisted, patrolling the vicinity, searching for a possible suspect described as a tall male wearing a plaid shirt.Four hours later, Sgt. Tracey Higley said the case remains under investigation by Officer Charles Beale.

“There are no known suspects,” Higley said.
