POLAND – L.J. Langelier’s former teachers at Poland Community School and current teachers at Bruce Whittier Middle School are holding a benefit spaghetti supper for the family to defray some of the medical and traveling expenses.

The supper will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Poland Community School. The cost is $5 per adult and $3 for children younger than 11 years. The supper will include a silent auction and a 50-50 raffle, and all of the money will go the family.

“Some of us teachers who had (L.J.) in class just wanted to do something to help the family,” said Community School teacher Jodi Barber-Jordan. “We all think that he’s just a great kid.”

Larry Langelier said he was embarrassed when he first heard about the supper. However, he recently learned that Medicaid would not cover the stay at the halfway house and he now welcomes the community support.
