Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know if you can find some information about Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary. Back in the ’80s, Paul made a recording at a studio in Blue Hills. Could you please find out if he or someone else owns it now or if it is still owned by Mr. Stookey? Could you please tell me if Eddie Bushie still records singles in Lewiston any more?

Could you please give me the address for both where I could get in contact with them in Sun Spots. Thank you very much, again and again! – Bryant Lessard, Ray Brook, New York.

Answer: Sun Spots corresponded with Paul Kehoe of www.peterpaulandmary.com who says here’s what he knows, and if Noel Paul Stookey has anything more to add, he’s sure he’ll be in touch with Sun Spots or the column:

Noel Stookey sold the Henhouse a few years ago to a woman named Andrea. He ran his company, Neworld Media, from the Henhouse for many years. It contained offices and a recording studio. Kehoe doesn’t believe Peter, Paul and Mary ever actually recorded in the Henhouse, although it’s possible that they rehearsed there from time to time. Noel Stookey did record some of his solo albums with The Bodyworks Band there. Other musicians sought out the studios in Blue Hill to escape the frenzy of the city and to produce their music in the quieter country surroundings. Neworld Media is now Neworld Multimedia based in North Berwick, Maine. For more on Noel Stookey check out his Web site at www.noelpaulstookey.com.

Regarding Eddie Bushie, Sun Spots has unfortunately been unable to locate any information on him. Perhaps readers familiar with him will be willing to share their information with column readers.

Dear Sun Spots: On Wednesday, Nov. 10, The Hallmark Channel televised “The Four Chaplains – Sacrifice at Sea.” I was unable to see this program and would like to know if there is any way a video copy of this may be obtained through the Hallmark Channel? There is a possibility also that one of your readers may have taped this program. If so, I sure would appreciate hearing from them. Thank you. – Richard E. Hoisington, East Livermore.

Answer: The documentary is the true story of four Army chaplains in World War II who sacrificed their lives to save their comrades. The one-hour documentary recounts, through military film footage, re-creations and personal interviews with survivors and family members, how a Catholic priest, a Jewish rabbi and two Protestant ministers removed their life jackets for others, and spent their last moments praying, arm-in-arm, as a U.S. troopship, the Dorchester, sank.

To purchase this video, call 1-800-588-8474, ext. 820. The VHS tape is $19.99 and a DVD is also $19.99.
