PARIS – The Christmas week services at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, will begin with the candlelight Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. The service will be led by Marilyn Hammond.

The 10 a.m. worship on Sunday, Dec. 26, will be “Worship with Music.” The service will consist of readings and music of the season. The participants will be Jeannie Whittemore, Terry Twitchell, Renee Wales and Forest Perkins, church organist.

Sunday school will be in session under the direction of Renee Wales. Child care will be provided. The coffee hour will followl. Everyone is welcome.

Area events

WEST PARIS – The Agnes L. Gray School is on Christmas vacation from Dec. 21 to Jan. 3. A teacher’s workshop was held on Thursday, Dec. 22.

The school basketball practice schedule is as follows: Mondays, grades three and four from 3:10 to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays, grades five and six, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, grades three and four, from 3:10 to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, grades five and six, from 3:10 to 5 p.m.

The Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at the West Paris Mission Congregation Church.

West Paris Universalist-Unitarian Church will hold a service at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, and the West Paris Baptist Church, 7 p.m. on Dec. 24.
