Home heating oil prices were unchanged at a statewide average of $1.91 per gallon over the past week, according to a State Planning Office survey.
That’s 50 cents more than the winter fuel cost last year at this time. Kerosene prices averaged $2.18 per gallon, a 1-cent decrease from a week earlier but 56 cents higher than a year ago.
Propane rose by 3 cents per gallon, to a statewide average of $2.06 per gallon and 43 cents more than the gas cost last year.
The SPO noted that per-barrel prices closed Friday at $44.05, down $2.26 on the week but $10.33 higher than crude oil was selling for last year at this time.
