LEWISTON – Charles C. Morin, 45, of Thorne Avenue in Lewiston, died at Central Maine Medical Center, Sunday, Jan. 2, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

“Chuck” was born in Lewiston on Sept. 25, 1959, the son of Charles and Helen Morin.

He attended Holy Family grammer school, graduated from Lewiston High School with the Class of 1977 and earned his certification as a pipefitter at Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute.

On Aug. 18, 1984, he married Joanne Pouzol and together settled down to raise a family.

Chuck was employed by Cianbro Corporation and was a member of Local 783 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish. He enjoyed reading and was an instructor for the Lost Valley Handicapped Skiing Association.

Charles, a very gentle and generous man, was his daughters’ biggest fan and supported them in their sporting activities and every other pasttime that they were involved in. His compassion and kindness will be missed always.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years; his daughters, Katie, Allison and Erica Morin of Lewiston; his mother, Helen Sylvain and husband, Albert, of Lewiston; sisters, Joline Silva and husband, Gerry, of North Andover, Mass., Anne Lajoie and husband, Peter, of Lewiston, and Nicki Mercier and husband, Michael, of Lewiston; brothers, Marc Morin and wife, Janet, of Lewiston, Paul Morin and wife, Michelle, of Topsham, and Thomas Morin of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles R. Morin, in 1982.
