DIXFIELD – The eight-week boating skills and seamanship course, offered by the Kennebec River United States Power and Sail Squadron, covers boat-handling, trailering, federal and state regulations, navigation and navigation rules, safety equipment, adverse conditions and emergencies and boating fundamentals.

There is a one-time $45 cost for textbook, nautical chart and charting instruments, payable to the instructor on the first night of class.

The first class will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at the Dirigo High School library.
