As a concerned teenager, I have been noticing that children and teens have been getting heavier. Children need to get out and exercise more, or at least play outside more.

It seems like children these days just sit and watch TV and play video games all day. More and more children are becoming couch potatoes. Teachers around the country have been noticing that their students have been getting heavier. Children of different ages took an online poll. The poll asked “should kids get more exercise?” Eighty-three percent of the children who took the poll said yes, but the remaining 17 percent said no.

Studies show that children are increasingly becoming obese.

Children exercise every day in activities such as physical education classes, recess or walking around in school. The question is, is that enough?

There should be more exercise programs and parents should be aware of what their children eat. Parents also need to know how long their kids are playing video games. Kids also need to be aware of what they eat. They can’t just eat whatever they want or eat too much of something because that isn’t healthy.

Parents need to tell their children to go outside and play or even take them to a park.
