PARIS – U.S. Sen. Susan M. Collins will be the keynote speaker Feb. 4 when the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce holds its 28th annual dinner and awards banquet.
The banquet will be held at the new Four Seasons Function Center, formerly the Country Way Restaurant on Main Street.
Collins has been a U.S. senator since 1996, and currently serves as chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee, which oversees the Department of Homeland Security and is the chief Senate oversight committee.
“Throughout her years, both in the private and public sector, Collins has been a leader on issues surrounding small business, health care and the well-being of all Mainers, and the chamber is proud to have a speaker with such a distinguished background,” chamber spokesman Bruce Little said in a press release. “We are looking forward to an exciting evening.”
The dinner will be catered by Joel Kane in the new banquet facility, which is under new management and has been renovated.
During the awards portion of the evening, the chamber will honor Community Service Award winner Rick Bennett, a longtime advocate for the Oxford Hills in the state Legislature; and Employee of the Year winner Jean Strom, a longtime employee of Austin Associates.
Northeast Bank will serve as corporate sponsor for the event. The chamber’s chairman of the board, Chris Delamater, will be the master of ceremonies.
The event is open to chamber members for $35 and nonmembers for $40 by prepaid reservation only. Seating is limited; participants are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible. To make reservations, people may stop by the chamber office at 213 Main St. in Paris or call the chamber at 743-2281.
