LEWISTON – Lewiston/Auburn Toastmasters Club 1741 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, in the first-floor conference room of the Bates Mill Complex at 35 Canal St. The speakers will be Tom Nesbitt, Rita Myrick and Bob Sawyer.

LISBON FALLS – The featured guest speaker at the Lisbon Historical Society’s meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 9, will be Hugh Lemaster of Crossman Funeral Home. He will give a presentation on “The History of Funeral Service.” The program will start at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to the free program.

Literary union

AUBURN – The Woman’s Literary Union will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St. Jean Austin and Calvin Dube of the Trinity Jubilee Center will be the featured speakers. The center is dedicated to advocacy for those in need. Located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston, it offers shelter, meals and counseling as well as many other services. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.

Senior College

LEWISTON – The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program at USM/Lewiston-Auburn on Friday, Feb. 11, will present Barbara Randall in a program titled “Satire in Alice in Wonderland.”

A retired English literature teacher from Edward Little High School and a former dean at Bates College, Randall is a member of the Senior College Advisory Board and is a frequent course instructor at Senior College.

The program will be held in the function room at USM/Lewiston-Auburn. The cost, which includes lunch, is $5 with advance reservation and $7 at the door.

Toy library

LEWISTON – The Toy Library, an indoor play space for kids at 250 Main St., is looking for new volunteers and board members.
