LEWISTON – Catherine B. Pratt, 81, of Auburn, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 3, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

She was born on June 20, 1923, in Cascade, N.H., to Nelson and Bertha (Barrows) Tucker. They moved to Maine while she was still a young child, living in Turner and then in Buckfield. Catherine was educated in Buckfield schools and graduated in 1941.

She married Norman Landers in 1943. After his death in 1959, she was married to Robert E. Pratt on Sept. 9, 1961.

She was employed for a time at Bath Iron Works, and later at wood working mills in the South Paris area. She took time to stay home when her children were growing up. Catherine loved the outdoors, gardening, animals, painting, sewing, and get togethers with family. She was a member of the Buckfield Community Church, where she was involved in Sunday School teaching, starting a youth group, and later teaching adult classes and Bible studies.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, William, in 1985, and her husband, Robert, in 1996.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy (Pratt) and Darcy White of Sidney; three brothers, Erland Tucker and his wife, Esther, of Poland, Morris Tucker and his wife, Lita, of Sumner, James and his wife, Cynthia, of Buckfield; a sister, Constance Hicks of Buckfield; two grandchildren, Daniel and Christine White of Sidney; and many nieces and nephews.
