WINTHROP – Helen Margaret Charest, 84, a resident of Gibbs Mill Road, in Livermore, died Thursday, Feb. 3, at Nicholson’s Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for six months.

She was born on July 4, 1920, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Robert and Helen Vose Jenkins. She was a 1938 graduate of Livermore Falls High School, and moved to Holyoke, Mass. in 1947.

On Feb. 7, 1948 she married Alfred “Kitsy” Charest, of Holyoke, Mass. She and her husband moved to Livermore in 1979, following their retirement. Mr. Charest passed away in 1990.

Helen was a homemaker, and had worked as a weaver at the woolen mills in Winthrop, and Holyoke, Mass. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, and a former communicant of Precious Blood Church in Holyoke, Mass.

She is survived by a stepson, Raymond Miner of Holyoke, Mass.; one niece; and her good friends and neighbors, Francis Castonguay and family, Irene Castonguay, and Jean and Roy Giguere.
