BIDDEFORD – Rolande B. Lachance, 81, of Amherst Street, Biddeford and formerly of Prospect Street, Topsham, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Southern Maine Medical Center, in Biddeford.

Born in Brunswick, March 10, 1923, a daughter of Joseph A. and Emiralda Lavoie Bois, she was educated at St. John’s School.

On Nov. 24, 1945, she married Lionel C. Lachance, at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. They made their home in Topsham, where they raised their family.

Mrs. Lachance worked at the Verney Mill, Health-tex and retired from Freeport Shoe Co. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and weekly lunches out with her friends.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald R. and his wife, Kathy Lachance, of Hudson, N.H., and Richard R. and his wife, Bonnie Lachance, of Lewiston; two daughters, Rosanne R. and her husband, Royal Smith, of Kennebunkport, and Rachel R. Lachance of Biddeford; a brother, Joachim and his wife, Lucille Bois, of Richmond; a sister, Cecilia and her husband, Woody Breedlove, of Bangor; one granddaughter and six grandsons; two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Gracia P. Leclerc, who died Feb. 23, 1996; a brother, Bertrand A. Bois, who died Feb. 2, 2000; and her husband, who died Jan. 27, 2004.
