LEWISTON – Mallory Long netted 13 points and led a trio of players to reach double digits as Lewiston defeated Mt. Ararat 54-42 in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
Lewiston trailed 27-24 at the break, then rallied with a 18-8 run in the third quarter to pull back into contention.
Tracy Bradley chipped in for the Blue Devils (8-5) with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Kelsey Varney added 11 points and hauled down eight rebounds.
Kelsey Eiane led the Eagles (5-8) with 14 points, while Jess Stahl tallied 10 and Elaine Emerson added nine.
Fryeburg 57, Poland 32
POLAND – Anna Nicolic drained 19 points to propel Fryeburg to a 57-32 rout over Poland in a WMC girls’ basketball matchup.
Fryeburg built a 31-19 advantage by intermission. Coreen Hennesey chipped in for the Raiders (11-6) with 14 points, while Natalie Roy added eight.
Kathryn Hall led the Knights (1-16) with eight points and Kelly Morse added six.
St. Dom’s 49, Waynflete 37
AUBURN – Abby Gilbert scored 18 points to lead St. Dom’s to a 49-37 win over Waynflete.
Malley O’Shea chipped in with 11 for the Saints (9-6). Waynflete (5-9) was led by Margaret Veroneau with a game high 25 points.
Edward Little 60, Waterville 52
WATERVILLE – Brittney French scored 30 points to propel Edward Little to a 60-52 win over Waterville in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Panthers played to a 23-20 lead at the half, but the Red Eddies stepped up the tempo in the second half, causing Waterville to struggle down the stretch.
Shelley Gagnier notched a team-high 16 points for Waterville, while Elizabeth Bell and Danae Plaisted secured 10 points apiece.
Katie Dargie tallied 21 points for Edward Little.
