AUBURN – Morse Brothers Inc., showcased two new garden products at New England Grows, the premier trade show for the landscape and gardening industry. Gardener’s Gold, an organic shellfish compost, and Nature’s Hemlock, a natural bark mulch, were featured at the annual regional event sponsored by the Massachusetts Nurserymen.

The show was held in Boston Feb. 1-3.

Gardener’s Gold is environmentally friendly organic shellfish compost. The compost features more than 20 percent crab compost with chitin, a complex carbohydrate that suppresses nematodes to increase plant growth, help retain moisture, according to Erik Hawkins, the CEO of the Morse Bagging Division.

The new mulch product, called Nature’s Hemlock, is a bark mulch produced from Maine and Canadian hemlock.

The mulch provides easy “spreadibility” for consumers and has both a natural hemlock color and hemlock smell. It is a non-color-enhanced product. Both products are available in bulk and bag.

Morse Brothers is a family-owned company that has been producing and distributing bark mulch for nurseries, garden centers, wholesalers and landscape professionals throughout New England for more than 30 years. It offers 10 different bulk products and a complete line of bagged mulches, soils and garden products, available through garden suppliers throughout the region.
