PORTLAND (AP) – A jet carrying 37 passengers landed safely at the Portland International Jetport on Thursday night after the pilot reported a cracked windshield.

The airport’s communications center said there was no structural problem associated with the crack, but precautions were taken anyway. Portland and South Portland fire companies sent equipment to the airport. The United Express jet flew to Portland from Washington-Dulles Airport.
