OXFORD – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Oxford American Legion Hall, Route 121 It is an Eagle Scout project for Brian Robinson of Poland.

Sunday sermon

PARIS – Brenda Birney will be the soloist and Shirley Miller will be the worship leader at the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Feb. 20, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St.

Miller’s sermon is “How To Live with Technology,” during which she will present challenging thoughts and ideas on how people live their spiritual and personal lives in the “information age.”

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. Renee Wales will direct the Sunday school, and child care will be provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Workshops set

PARIS – The First Universalist Church of Pine Street, South Paris, will host a series of free workshops on Tuesdays in March, open to the public.

The series will begin with a writing workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. March 1, facilitated by Sharon Bouchard.

Barbara Swan Frost will host a quilting workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. in three sessions; March 8, 15 and 22. The project will be a hand-pieced and hand-quilted Christmas mat, which will be completed on the third week.

Participants are asked to register in advance for the quilting by contacting Bouchard at 743-9219 evenings by Friday, Feb. 25. Fabric, batting and other supplies will be furnished, but participants are encouraged to bring a thimble and small quilting scissors if they normally use them. All levels of quilters, novices, beginners and experienced are welcome.

Society meeting

LOCKE MILLS – The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the historical building. Frank Perham will be the speaker. Everyone is welcome.
