MINOT – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet at Minot Center Grange on Wednesday, March 2, for a 6:30 p.m. supper. The business meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. The program will be presented by the Youth Committee, chaired by Steven Haycock. An attendance drawing will be held. Members and guests are welcome.

Sodality speaker

LEWISTON – The Queen’s Guild Sodality of St. Joseph’s Church will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in the church hall. The speaker will be Nancy Ruff, a sodalist, describing “A Year in Austria.”

Following the meeting, refreshments will be served by Therese Baumer, Clara Glendenning and Mary Riley. All women of the parish and guests are invited.

Sodality event

LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Parish will hold a day of recollection at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at St. Patrick’s Chapel. Sister Irene Arsenault of the Daughters of Wisdom will speak on “Living Compassionately.” A luncheon will follow. Members, friends and women of the parish are welcome.

Arsenault is a member of the Congregation of the Daughters of Wisdom. She is a native of Madawaska and is administrator of Wisdom’s Center, a drop-in center for women and their children.

Over the years, Arsenault’s ministry has included administrative dietitian at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y.; administrator of Wisdom House, Center of Spirituality in Litchfield, Conn. and director of retreats, workshops and spiritual direction, and pastoral associate at St. Raphael’s Parish in Kittery.

Lenten cantata

AUBURN – Court Street Baptist Church is inviting the public to the Delta Heart Choir presentation of “Lord of Lords” Lenten cantata at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 6. The cantata was composed by Tom Fettke and Camp Kirkland.

Lee Hixon has directed choirs for 20 years. The concert will be signed by Bev Boyer. Light refreshments and fellowship will follow. Those wanting more information should call 346-3384.

Society lunch

BOWDOIN – The Bowdoin Historical Society will meet on Sunday, March 6, at FHC Inc., formerly Bowdoin Central School, Main Street. A potluck lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and the meeting will start at 1:30.

For the program, those attending should bring one or two old items to show members and to share the history.

Auction slated

AUBURN – The National Association of Insurance Women – Androscoggin Valley will meet Wednesday, March 9, at Martindale Country Club, Beech Hill Road.

The meeting will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:45. The program will be a Scotch auction and the auctioneer will be Ernie Gagne. Unwrapped items (new or used) will be auctioned off to raise money for the Maine Council’s Scholarship Fund.

A clothing drive will be held for Classy Lady, so any gently worn, clean business attire to be donated should be taken to the meeting.
