WILTON – Champions have been crowned following playoffs in the Girls Division of the Western Maine Youth Basketball League (Grades 5-6).
In the opening game of the B Division, Auburn Rec beat North Franklin 33-8 as Jacyln Masters scored 12 points and Miranda Martin 6. Linnsey Beane led Franklin with 4. . . In Game 2, Oxford Hills knocked off Dixfield 35-19 as Claire Stauder and Allyson Snow each tallied 8. Hannah Knight netted 7 for the Dixies. . . In the consolation game, Dixfield outlasted North Franklin 34-22 as Knight and Alyssa Wade each collected 8. Danni Smith scored 9 for Franklin. . . Oxford Hills took the B title with a 33-18 victory over Auburn Rec. Stauder and Snow again paved the way with 9 and 6 points, respectively. Martin (8) and Masters (7) paced Auburn.
In the A Division playoffs, Turner trimmed Wilton 52-15 as Courtney Anderson netted 12 and Abbey Randall 9. Ashley Walker and Vavity Ringer both collected 4 for Wilton. . . In game 2, AYS of Jay-Livermore beat Auburn-Lewiston YMCA 41-27. Erin Plourde led the winners with 10 points. Annika Durrell added 8. YMCA was led by Frankie Lally (9) and Allaina Murphy (8). . . In the consolation tilt, Auburn-Lewiston YMCA defeated Wilton 59-14 as Murphy tallied 15. Sierra Webber scored 7 for Wilton. . . In the championship contest, Turner capped off an undefeated season with a 53-25 triumph over AYS. Brianna Hammond tallied 15 for the champs and Randall added 9. Kathryn Ventrella and Samantha Greenwood each scored 6 for AYS.
