LEWISTON – Louise G. Dion, 79, formerly of 143 Mill St., Auburn, and most recently a resident of Ouellette’s Adult Foster Home, 124 Prospect Ave., Lewiston, died at home on Saturday, March 12.

Born in Matane, P.Q., Canada, on June 5, 1925, she was the daughter of Hormidas and Euphemie Dion Chouinard.

On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Henry E. Dion, who passed away Aug. 28, 1999. A longtime resident of Third Street in New Auburn, she moved into Barker Mill Arms following the death of her husband, and became very active in the tenants association there.

A member of St. Louis Parish, she also belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne, Horizon 55, Covenant 50, and the New Auburn Senior Citizens.

In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting things for family and friends, and had an extensive angel collection.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda and her husband, Dennis Connelly Sr., of Auburn, and Monique and her husband, Richard Field, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a brother, Lucien of Canada; two sisters, Rita Beauchamp, and Lucienne Trepanier, both of Canada; three grandchildren, Melissa Cyr, Justine Field, and Henry Field; several nieces and nephews; and a beloved sister-in-law, Yvonne and her husband, Bertrand Boilard, of Auburn.

She was predeceased by six brothers, Jean, Philippe, Louis, Charles, Felix, and Roger; two sisters, Juliette and Rose; and a grandson, Jason Cyr.
