LEEDS – Ramona D. (Wing, McDonald) Heikkinen, 66, a resident of Leeds, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, March 12, following a brave battle with colon cancer.

She was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Leeds, the beloved daughter of the late Llwellyn and Evelyn Wing. She was educated in the schools of Leeds and Turner, and attended Monmouth Academy. She returned to school and graduated in June of 2000 at the age of 62.

In May 1991, she married Edward Heikkinen at the family home where she grew up in Leeds.

She worked for Livermore Falls Shoe Co. and Carlton Woolen Mill, retiring in 1999.

She enjoyed birds, flowers, jigsaw puzzles, and her poodle, Lacy. Her favorite NASCAR driver was No. 88 Dale Jarret, and her favorite artist was Thomas Kinkade.

She is survived by her husband, Edward, of Leeds; four daughters, Brenda Hewins of Lewiston, Belinda Amburg and her husband, Clifton, of Livermore, Jill McDonald of Mexico, and Elly Decker and her husband, Mark, of Turner; two half sisters, Irene Hahnel of Bath, and Lydia Martineau of Lewiston, 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, and a half brother, William Schott Jr.
