LEWISTON – Cecile May Roy, 75, widow of Gerard L. Roy, of 90 Maine Ave., Rumford, died Wednesday, March 16, at d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for two years.

She was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Rumford, the daughter of Albert and Aldina Casey Melanson. A resident of this community all of her life, she was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Church and was educated in the local schools.

She had been employed as a waitress at Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club and was also a member of the club. She enjoyed her grandchildren and being a homebody.

Survivors include two daughters, Joanne and her husband, Wayne Bouchard, and Suzanne Gallant and her companion, Rick Kries, all of Rumford; five grandchildren, Melanie Davenport, Bryan Bouchard, Matthew Gallant, Cory Bouchard and Jeremy Abbott; four great-grandchildren, Trenton and Nicholas Davenport and Kyle Bartlett and Jason Bouchard; and two brothers, Raymond Melanson of Livermore and Maurice Melanson of Jay.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Robert Melanson; and three sisters, Theresa Gaudet, Corinne Tyler and Rita Melanson.
