OTISFIELD – Alice E. Bean, 95, of Otisfield, died Tuesday March 15, at her family farm with her family by her side.

She was born in Otisfield, the daughter of Edwin and Lizzie Lamb. She was educated in Otisfield schools and also attended Bliss College.

She married Everett S. Bean on Nov. 5, 1932. She was a lifelong resident of Otisfield. She had worked as a store clerk, bus driver for the Otisfield Schools and as mail carrier. She also loved working on the farm with her husband, Everett, and being a housewife.

She enjoyed quilting, baking, crocheting, and touring Oxford Hills with her beloved dog, Keisha. Traveling was a new found joy later in her life. She was a member of the Otisfield Baptist Church, local snowmobile club, the ladies guild, sewing circle and the farm bureau.

She is survived by a son, Richard Bean and his wife, Donna, of Otisfield; a daughter, Judy Hunter and her husband, Calvin; her beloved dog, Keisha; eight grandchildren, Lynn Hamlin of Otisfield, Richard Bean Jr., of Otisfield, Tara Durgin of Greenwood, Debi Hunter of Gray, Tricia Hall of Oxford, Gene Bean of Oxford, Scott Hunter of Otisfield and Everett Hall of Otisfield; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Everett; two daughters, Beverly Butters and Betty Hall; and three grandchildren, Lisa (Bean) Thurston, Robbie Butters and Karen Hamlin.
