FARMINGTON – Robert A. Brooks Sr., 82, of Wilton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15.

He was born May 10, 1922, in Waterville, the son of Charles R. and Doris P. (Walton) Brooks. He graduated in 1941 from Wilton Academy.

He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 16, 1942, he married Jessie Mae Sylvester in Oakland. He was employed by the Wilton Woolen Mill and G.H. Bass Co., for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Blue Assembly of God Church in Farmington.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Jessie, of Wilton; a son, Robert A. Brooks Jr., and his wife, Joan, of Currier, N.C.; a daughter, Doris Mitchell and her husband, Stephen, of Phillips; two sisters, Martha Robertson of Garden Grove, Calif., and Mary Jenkins and her husband, Jim, of Warrenton, Ore.; a brother, Charles Raymond Brooks Jr., and his wife, Roberta, of Aurora Colo.; grandchildren, Angela Edmunds and her husband, Marc, Deborah Johnson and her husband, Gary, Michelle Purrington, Dulcy Brooks and her companion, Walter, Robert A. Brooks III; stepgrandchildren, Michael Mitchell, Michelle Pinkham, Dawn Jacobson and Becky Tompson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Henry and Pearl Hall.
