BETHEL – Dale Everett Smith, 47, of Bethel, died unexpectedly on March 16.
He was born in Norway, June 20, 1957, the son of Lewis and Janice (Stearns) Smith. He was educated in local schools and had worked as a NELMA lumber grader and scaler most of his life.
He worked for Smith and Son Lumber of Bethel, L.E. Davis Lumber of Bethel and for the past 18 years with White Mountain Lumber, retiring in December of 2004 to pursue his lifelong dream of going to cosmetology school.
At the time of his death he was attending Bernard’s Cosmetology School in Lewiston. He was an avid NASCAR fan, hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler, ice fisherman and bow hunter. He also owned and operated “Morning Star Maple,” making maple syrup. He was a one of a kind husband and father.
He is survived by his mother, of Bethel; his wife of 26 years, Linda (Hamel) Smith, of Bethel; one son, Jeremy Smith of Gilead; three daughters, Audrey Thibodeau of New Mexico, Amanda Curtis of Greenwood and Candi Smith of Bethel; one brother, Jeffery Smith of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, Felecia Curtis and Akayla Curtis, both of Greenwood, Dakota Smith of Gilead and Logan Whitney of Bethel; and many nieces and nephews.
