NORWAY – Elizabeth A. Martin, 83, of Hebron, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Mechanic Falls, on Dec. 30, 1921, the daughter of Kenneth Ray and Tressie Trundy Edwards. She was a graduate of Mechanic Falls High School in 1940.
She married Jacob Martin on Sept. 16, 1940, and he predeceased her in 1997.
She was a housewife and mother of 12. She also had worked as a drill press operator for General Electric in Auburn for 13 years and retired in 1983.
She belonged to the Senior Citizens Club in Mechanic Falls.
She loved to cook, go out to eat and do gardening.
She is survived by five sons, Jacob and wife, Debra, of Buckfield, David and wife, Janice, of Oxford, Gerald Wayne and, wife Becky, of Hebron, Ronald and wife, Rose, of Hebron, and Russell and wife, Barbara, of Hebron; six daughters, Vicki and husband, William Brown, of Hebron, Elizabeth and husband, Michael Jordan, of Hebron, Sheryl and wife, Leonard Sanipass, of Hebron, LuAnn and David Hall of Hebron, Jeanie and Michael Hall of Hebron, and Janet Durgin and companion, Shannon Mullady, of Hebron; 34 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Gary Martin, of Oxford; and three sisters, Wilma Veilleaux, Hyillis Cushman, and Alice Nelson.
