AUBURN – Hubert M. Nadeau, 65, of 55 Poland Road, died Monday evening, March 21, at his residence.

He was born at Baker Brook, New Brunswick, Canada, Oct. 15, 1939, the son of Denis and Imelda Boutot Nadeau. He was educated in Canadian schools and was married June 27, 1964, to Jeanne E. Carney.

He was known to a lot of people as “Mr. Fix-it.” This man was very talented in every aspect of the word. Building and fixing was his trade and enjoyment. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends. He just celebrated 40 years of marriage with his wife.

Through his time of illness, we found out how many lives and hearts he had touched with all the support from friends and family. It was nothing for him to go and help someone, and he wasn’t even asked to help – he just knew when to go. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. He was a member of the Auburn Catholic community at Sacred Heart Church.

He is survived by his wife of Auburn; two daughters, Joyce Philbrick and her husband, Chester, of Corinth and Linda Harvey and her husband, Paul, of Mechanic Falls; three grandchildren, Nathan and Brittany Harvey, and William Philbrick; his mother of Edmundston, New Brunswick; a sister, Corinne Lagace of Montreal; and a brother, Rino Nadeau and his wife, Linda, of Saco.

He was predeceased by his father; a grandson, Matthew Harvey; and a sister, Rina Ouellette.
